Leon E Hugo Lorne Infection and Immunity 2020

Leon E Hugo

I am a mosquito vector biologist and Senior Research Officer at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Brisbane, Australia. I use live mosquito infection and transmission models to study host-parasite interactions, test novel strategies to control mosquitoes and the parasites they transmit and collaborate on the development of new parasite diagnostics. My current research activities in malaria include collaborative research towards the development of spinosyns as novel endectocides against Anopheles mosquitoes and novel rapid diagnostic assays for Plasmodium parasites.
